Ryan Kim, R.TCMP., MOT, RMT
Ryan Kim is a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCMP.), Manual Osteopathic Therapist (MOT), and Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in British Columbia. He has also completed the Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DTCM) program and is currently preparing for the DTCM registration examination. He provides patient-centred care with an emphasis on thoughtful assessment, evidence-informed treatment, and patient education.
Ryan believes that every person is unique. He begins each visit with a thorough assessment to understand the patient’s concerns, goals, and movement patterns. Treatment is individualized and provided within the scope of the profession booked, with the goal of improving movement, managing pain, and supporting overall well-being.
Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Ryan provides acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, gua sha, and other traditional Chinese medicine therapies. Treatment is individualized to each patient’s presentation and health goals, with a focus on pain management, functional recovery, and overall well-being.
Manual Osteopathic Therapist
Ryan practises osteopathy using a gentle, hands-on approach to improve mobility, restore movement, and support overall body function. Depending on the individual’s needs, treatment may incorporate structural techniques, craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, and other osteopathic approaches.
Registered Massage Therapist
Ryan provides evidence-informed assessment and treatment for musculoskeletal conditions using manual therapy, myofascial techniques, joint mobilization, therapeutic exercise, and patient education.
Ryan does not believe that more pressure necessarily leads to better outcomes. Instead, treatment pressure is determined by clinical assessment, tissue response, treatment goals, and each patient’s individual needs. Whether using lighter or deeper pressure, the focus is always on providing safe, effective, and clinically appropriate care.
Direct Billing & Insurance
Direct billing is available for most extended health insurance plans for Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) and Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine (R.TCMP.) services.
Please note:
- Direct billing is not available for osteopathic treatments.
- Insurance coverage and reimbursement policies for osteopathic treatment vary significantly between insurance providers and individual benefit plans. Patients are encouraged to verify their eligibility and benefits directly with their insurer before booking.
- Coverage for RMT and R.TCMP. services varies depending on your insurance provider and individual plan. Any balance not covered by your insurer remains the patient’s responsibility.
- Ryan has chosen not to participate in the Medavie Blue Cross provider network. As a result, services provided by Ryan are not eligible for direct billing or reimbursement through Medavie Blue Cross.
- Ryan does not accept patients with active ICBC, WorkSafeBC, or legal claims, regardless of whether the treatment is related to the claim or accident.
